Short summary (English)

Scientific research, teaching and professional work of the Department of Plan Nutrition employees is focused on the optimal plant nutrition in the physiological, nutritional, toxicological as well as ecological and landscape aspects in general. Considerable attention to fertilization by various crops in conventional and organic production is dedicated and the influence of fertilization with organic and mineral fertilizers on the environment. Special attention is paid to treating the physiological disorders caused by abiotic stress factors, particularly the lack of trace elements. Chemical analytical laboratory of Department of Plant Nutrition provide analysis of soil, plant material, substrate, fertilizer (organic and mineral), soil improvers, waste material and sludge, nutrient solutions and water are carried out according to standard methods of Croatian and international standards (DIN, ISO, EEC-Directive – EC, Regulations). Opinions (reports, case studies, elaborates and certificates) are issued, as well as recommendations for all forms of agricultural production, it is suggested the possible fertilization with the aim of a fair and sustainable agricultural production without compromising the natural balance. In the Laboratory are carried out research and practical exercises with the students of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate modules. Laboratory staff are actively involved in Technical Committees (TO-134 for fertilizers and soil improvers and TO-190 for soil) at the Croatian Office for Standardization and Metrology. Laboratory operates in compliance with standard HRN ISO 17025:2009 - 'The organization of laboratories' according to which currently conducts the accreditation process. Within The Department of Plant Nutrition operates Laboratory for the quality of fertilizers, soil amandments and plant material (licensed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development) and analysis of waste materials (the authority of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning and Construction, in accordance with the Waste Act, the Regulations of the sludge and Regulations on the Protection of agricultural land from pollution by hazardous substances). The laboratory is involved in a program of national and international comparative tests of soil, plant material and organic and mineral fertilizers.

Znanstveno istraživački, nastavni i stručni rad djelatnika Zavoda za ishranu bilja usmjeren je prema optimalnoj ishrani bilja kako s fiziološkog, nutritivnog, toksikološkog tako i s ekološkog i krajobraznog aspekta u cjelini. Značajna pažnja posvećena je gnojidbi različitih poljoprivrednih kultura u konvencionalnoj i ekološkoj proizvodnji, kao i utjecaju gnojidbe organskim i mineralnim gnojivima na okoliš, te liječenju fizioloških poremećaja uzrokovanih abiotskim stresnim čimbenicima, posebice nedostatkom mikroelemenata. Kemijski analitički laboratorij Zavoda za ishranu bilja provodi analize tla, biljnog materijala, supstrata, gnojiva (organskih i mineralnih), poboljšivača tla, otpadnih materijala i muljeva, hranjivih otopinama i voda koje se provode sukladno standardnim metodama prema hrvatskim i međunarodnim normama (HRN, ISO, EEC-Direktive – EZ, Pravilnici). Izdaju se mišljenja (izvješća, studije, elaborati i certifikati) po izvršenim analizama, daje preporuka za sve oblike poljoprivredne proizvodnje, predlaže se eventualna gnojidba s ciljem pravilne i održive poljoprivredne proizvodnje. U prostoru laboratorija provode se znanstvena istraživanja, ali i praktične vježbe sa studentima preddiplomskog, diplomskog i poslijediplomskog studija. Djelatnici laboratorija aktivno su uključeni u rad tehničkih odbora (TO-134 za gnojiva i poboljšivače tla i TO-190 za tlo) pri Državnom zavodu za normizaciju i mjeriteljstvo. Laboratorij djeluje sukladno normi HRN ISO 17025:2009 - 'Ustrojstvo laboratorija' prema kojoj se trenutno provodi postupak akreditacije. U sklopu Zavoda za ishranu bilja djeluje i ovlašteni laboratorij za ispitivanje kakvoće gnojiva, poboljšivača tla i biljnog materijala za ekološku proizvodnju (ovlaštenje Ministarstva poljoprivrede, ribarstva i ruralnog razvoja) i analiziranje otpadnih materijala (ovlaštenje Ministarstva zaštite okoliša, prostornog uređenja i graditeljstva). Laboratorij je uključen u program nacionalnih i međunarodnih poredbenih ispitivanja tla, biljnog materijala te organskih i mineralnih gnojiva.
