Short summary (English)

Research expertise of the Department of Railway Transport include problems of efficiency and sustainability of railway technological processes. Regarding this, the Department is focused on solving problems related to the train and traffic control processes, railway timetable planning and infrastructure capacity improvement, and rolling stock fleet management, in order to increase the efficiency of technological processes in railway passenger and freight transport. Respecting to this, the Department conducts the following expertise: Research on traffic demand as a function of traffic planning. Organization of railway cars flows. Designing of technological processes in stations. Designing of technological processes in railway networks. Designing of technological processes in intermodal terminals. Technological processes of construction and maintenance of railway infrastructure. Transport planning in maintaining of railway infrastructure. Exploitation of rolling stock and train traction. Maintenance of railway vehicles. Projects of reconstruction and modernization of rolling stock. Optimization of railway vehicles technical inspection processes and crew rostering. Methodology for application of the EU, UIC and ERA OTHER standards for security and interoperability of railway traffic. Organization of rail transport considering rail infrastructure charging. Istraživačke ekspertize Zavoda za željeznički promet obuhvaćaju probleme efikasnosti i održivosti tehnološkog procesa prijevoza. S tim u vezi Zavod je fokusiran na rješavanje problema vezanih za utvrđivanje raspoloživih kapaciteta željezničke infrastrukture i flote vozila željezničkih operatera, u cilju povećanja tehničko-tehnološke učinkovitisti tehnološkog procesa prijevoza putnika i roba. S tim u vezi zavod provodi slijedeće ekspertize. Istraživanje prometne potražnje u funkciji prometnog planiranja. Organizacija vagonskih tokova. Projektiranje tehnoloških procesa u kolodvorima. Projektiranje tehnoloških procesa u čvorovima. Projektiranje tehnoloških procesa na mreži. Projektiranje tehnoloških procesa u intermodalnim terminalima.
