The expertise of the Department of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) covers a number of topics from the field of ITS based on transport and traffic control and optimisation, computing and ICT technologies. In the field of ITS we have experience in policy and strategy of the ITS development, ex-ante and ex-post evaluation of ITS deployment, ITS cost-benefit analysis, management of ITS user requirements, ITS project management, development of cooperative systems in transport and traffic, modelling and simulation of cooperative systems, incident design, management systems in transport and traffic, optimisation and simulation of evacuation process, and design of road telematics maintenance systems. In the field of computing and ICT technologies we have experience in computer vision based traffic control applications, designing metaheuristics optimisation algorithms, algorithms implementation in parallel computing environment, development of moving database prototypes and vehicles GPS tracks data analysis and mining.

Područje stručnosti Zavoda za inteligentne transportne sustave (ITS) pokriva veći broj tema iz područja ITS-a zasnovanog na upravljanju i optimizaciji prometa i transporta, računalstvu i informacijsko-komunikacijskoj tehnologiji. U području ITS-a Zavod ima iskustva iz politika i strategija razvoja ITS-a, ex-ante i ex-post analize implementacije ITS-a, ITS analize troškova i dobiti, upravljanja ITS korisničkim zahtjevima, vođenja projekata iz područja ITS-a, razvoja kooperativnih sustava u prometu i transportu, modeliranja i simulacije kooperativnih sustava, projektiranja sustava upravljanja incidentima u prometu i transportu, optimizacije i simulacije evakuacijskih procesa i projektiranja sustava održavanja cestovne telematičke opreme. Iz područja računalstva i informacijsko-komunikacijske tehnologije Zavod ima iskustva u primjeni računalnog vida u upravljanju prometom, izradi metaheurističkih optimizacijskih algoritama, implementaciji algoritama na paralelnoj računalnoj arhitekturi, razvoju prototipova baza podataka pokretnih objekata i dubinskoj analizi GPS tragova.
