Short summary (English)

Department for animal nutrition has been engaged in three main areas namely. a) Educational activity in undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and specialist study, b) scientific research activities in the field of animal nutrition and poultry, c) expert advisory activities in the above mentioned areas. Department for animal nutrition is capable of research expertise in three main areas. Regarding education, staff of the Department are, in the framework of doctoral studies in the Faculty of Agriculture, able to ensure the acquisition of a doctorate in the field of animal nutrition and poultry science. Within the Department for animal nutrition professionals are experts in research, interpretation, drafting and implementation of animal nutrition. Regarding this laboratory of the Institute has qualified for the following analysis: accredited Weende analysis of feed, minerals Ca, P, Na, K, detergent fiber digestion kinetics in vitro of starch, enzymatic determination of resistant starch, antioxidant capacity of corn pigments, HPLC analysis tocotrienols, compound microscope mixture, also at the Institute can be performed in situ method to determine protein degradation and solubility of minerals from forage in the rumen of ruminants, the determination of buffering capacity of feed. Further, staff of the Department apply contemporary models in the assessment of energy and protein value of feed. Within the poultry production technology, staff of the Department are experts in research in the field of housing, breeding, fattening, production and evaluation of egg quality, conservation of indigenous breeds, which includes performing biological experiments on poultry.

Zavod za hranidbu životinja je angažiran na tri osnovna područja i to. a) nastavna aktivnost na preddiplomskom, diplomskom, doktorskom i specijalističkom studiju, b) znanstveno istraživačka aktivnost iz područja hranidbe životinja i peradarstva, c) stručna savjetodavna aktivnost iz prije spomenutih područja. Zavod za hranidbu životinja je osposobljen za istraživačke ekspertize iz tri osnovna područja. Unutar edukacije djelatnici Zavoda su, u okviru doktorskog studija Agronomskog fakulteta, u mogućnosti osigurati stjecanje doktorata iz područja hranidbe životinja i peradarstva. Unutar hranidbe životinja djelatnici zavoda su eksperti za istraživanje, tumačenje, izradu i primjenu programa ishrane životinja. Unutar toga laboratorij Zavoda je osposobljen za sljedeće analize : akreditirane Weende analize hrane za životinje, minerali Ca; P; Na;K, detergent vlakna, in vitro kinetiku probave škroba, enzimatsku determinaciju rezistentnog škroba, antioksidativni kapacitet pigmenata kukuruza, HPLC analizu tocotrienola, mikroskopiranje krmnih smjesa, Također u Zavodu je moguće izvoditi in situ metodu u određivanju razgradnje proteina i topljivosti minerala iz voluminozne krme u buragu preživača, određivanje pufernog kapaciteta krmiva.Nadalje primjenjuju se suvremene modeli u procjeni energetske i proteinske vrijednosti hrane za životinje. Unutar tehnologije peradarske proizvodnje djelatnici Zavoda su eksperti za istraživanje iz područja smještaja, uzgoja, tova, proizvodnje i evaluaciju kakvoće jaja, očuvanja autohtonih pasmina što uključuje izvođenje bioloških pokusa s peradi.
