Short summary (English)

Department of Mechanical Metallurgy is one of three departments in the Faculty of Metallurgy in which there are two laboratories. The first is a Laboratory for the treatment of metal by deformation, which implements a standard testing methods of mechanical properties, tests at high temperatures, the determination of plasticity, testing of deformation resistance of metals and alloys, and nondestructive testing . The laboratory also develops specific test methods and modeling processes . Particular attention is paid to the test methods in the field of production technology of flat profiles and pipes. Another laboratory is a Laboratory for Heat and Mechanical Engineering, which implements the standard testing methods of thermal measurements in the field of industrial furnaces. In addition to measuring the emissions of gas components there are possible measurements for determining the mass concentration of solid particulate in the waste gases by gravimetric method. Develops and special control methods such as combustion control method of O2 in combustion gases. Investigates the possibility of usage of combustion indicators in the operating conditions for the process heating materials. It also develops methods for reducing NOx content in the combustion gases.

Zavod za mehaničku metalurgiju jedan je od tri zavoda na Metalurškom fakultetu unutar kojeg postoje dva laboratorija. Prvi je Laboratorij za obradbu kovina deformiranjem, koji povodi standardne metode ispitivanja mehaničkih osobina, ispitivanja pri visokim temperaturama, određivanje plastičnosti, ispitivanje otpora deformacije kovina i slitina i ispitivanja bez razaranja. Laboratorij također razvija posebne metode ispitivanja te modeliranja procesa. Posebnu pažnju posvećuje metodama ispitivanja u području tehnologije proizvodnje plosnatih profila i cijevi. Drugi laboratorij je Laboratorij za toplotehniku i strojarstvo, koji provodi standardne metode toplinskih mjerenja u području industrijskih peći. Uz mjerenje emisije plinskih komponenti moguća su mjerenja određivanja masene koncentracije krutih čestica u otpadnim plinovima gravimetrijskom metodom. Razvija i specijalne metode kontrole izgaranja npr. metodu kontrole O2 u plinovima izgaranja. Istražuje mogućnost primjene pokazatelja izgaranja u pogonskim uvjetima za vođenje procesa zagrijavanja materijala. Također razvija metode za snižavanje sadržaja NOX u plinovima izgaranja.
