Short summary (English)

Basic interest of our research group is rational energy management within the sustainable development concept in order to increase energy efficiency in industry and in all other processes. Within this framework the entire energy flow from the source, through transformation and transport to the final consumer is investigated. In addition to the study of conventional sources, special attention is given to renewable energy sources such as solar energy (thermal and photovoltaic), geothermal energy, biogas and low potential hydropower (small hydro). The process equipment and technologies for using of renewable energy sources such as heat pumps and low temperature cogeneration plants are also investigated. The research results are published in journals and presented at national and international conferences. As part of life long learnig the educational seminars for ​​the calculations and design of pipelines are held. We are also qualified for the energy certification of buildings and certified by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning and Construction for conducting energy audits and for issuing of energy certificates for building with simple and complex technical systems. Based on many years of experience with the design, calculations, laboratory and field measurements on ventilation and cooling systems of large hydrogenerators we can offer expertise in solving problems of fluid flow and heat transfer in complex geometries. As certified engineers and members of the Croatian Chamber of Mechanical Engineers we are qualified for design of thermal power and process plants, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, preparation and water treatment.

Osnovno područje interesa istraživačke grupe je racionalno gospodarenje energijom u okviru koncepta održivog razvoja sa svrhom povećanja energetske učinkovitosti industrijskih, ali i svih ostalih procesa. U okviru toga istražuje se cijeli tok energije, od izvora, preko pretvorbe i prijenosa pa do potrošača. Uz izučavanje konvencionalnih izvora, posebna pažnja posvećuje se obnovljivim izvorima energije poput energije sunca (toplinska i fotonaponska energija), geotermalne energije, bioplina i hidro energije niskog potencijala (male hidroelektrane). Razvijaju se i tehnologije za korištenje obnovljivih izvora, kao npr. dizalice topline i niskotemperaturne kogeneracije. U okviru cjeloživotnog obrazovanja održavaju se seminari s područja proračuna i projektiranja cjevovoda. Osposobljeni smo također za energetsko certificiranje zgrada i posjedujemo ovlaštenje Ministarstva zaštite okoliša, prostornog uređenja i gradnje za provođenje energetskih pregleda i izdavanje energetskih certifikata zgrada s jednostavnim i složenim tehničkim sustavima. Na temelju višegodišnjeg iskustva s projektiranjem, proračunima i mjerenjima na sustavima ventilacije i hlađenja velikih hidrogeneratora možemo ponuditi i ekspertno znanje pri rješavanju problema strujanja fluida i izmjene topline u složenim geometrijama. Članstvom u Hrvatskoj komori inženjera strojarstva kao ovlašteni inženjeri imamo ovlaštenje za projektiranje termoenergetskih i procesnih postrojenja, grijanje, ventilaciju, klimatizaciju te rashladna postrojenja, pripremu i obradu vode kao i skladištenje i prijenos plinovitih i tekućih tvari.
