Short summary (English)

Scientific research work of the Department of Buildings is focused on sustainable development and use of new materials and technologies in the planning, design and construction of buildings, as well as more efficient use / improvement of existing materials and technologies. Transfer of science in modern and pragmatic solutions start at a theoretical level, through the definition of methods and models of application and then check the particular job in order to confirm the theoretical assumptions, so it is imperative that research has its base in continuous professional work which covers the area of architecture and urbanism. Individual research topics of Building can be defined as: • Definition of methodological approaches and standards design and troubleshooting of buildings and structures, • improving the implementation of various models of engineering structures, • developing innovative models for implementation of new, or the improvement of existing models of application of building materials, • Optimization of construction in the phase of design and planning. Our research is based on a multidisciplinary approach and collaboration, and research methods that are adapted (innovative and out-of-the-box) to specific study. We believe that progress in science is possible only with the knowledge sharing and collaboration. We encourage staff to publish their researches and to participate in public speeches, appearances, forums, conferences, etc. at national and international level.

Znanstvenoistraživački rad Zavoda za zgradarstvo usmjeren je ka održivom razvoju, odnosno primjeni novih materijala i tehnologija u planiranju, projektiranju i gradnji zgrada, ali i učinkovitijem korištenju/unapređenju postojećih materijala i tehnologija. Transfer znanosti u suvremena i pragmatična rješenja započinju na teorijskoj razini, kroz definiranje metode i modela primjene te se potom provjerava na konkretnom zadatku kako bi se potvrdile teoretske pretpostavke, stoga je neophodno da istraživački rad svoje uporište ima i u kontinuiranom stručnom radu koji obuhvaća područje arhitekture i urbanizma. Pojedinačne teme istraživanja Zavoda za zgradarstvo mogu se definirati kao: • definiranje metodološkog pristupa i standarda projektiranju i rješavanju problema zgrada i građevina, • unapređenju primjene raznovrsnih modela inženjerskih konstrukcija, • razvoju inovativnih modela za primjenu novih, odnosno za unapređenje modela primjene postojećih građevinskih materijala, • optimiziranju gradnje i fazi projektiranja i planiranja. Naš istraživački rad zasniva se na multidisciplinarni pristupu i suradnji te metodama istraživanja koje su prilagođene (inovativne i jedinstvene) istraživanju. Vjerujemo da je napredak u znanosti moguć samo uz dijeljenje znanja i suradnju, stoga potičemo djelatnike Zavoda na objavu svojih istraživanja te javna izlaganja i istupanja te sudjelovanje na forumima, kongresima i sl. na nacionalnoj i međunarodnoj razini.
