Short summary (English)

Main research activity is directed toward the development and application of inorganic materials (ceramic powders, glass-ceramics, glass, bioactive ceramics, cement, nanocomposites, thin films, pigments and catalysts). X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and thermal methods (DSC, DTA and TGA) of analysis are routinely used for material's structure and properties characterization. Main methods for preparations of target compounds or materials include: sol-gel techniques, hydrothermal synthesis, powder processing and high-temperature reaction sintering and/or melting. We are able to produce nanopowders, thin films, bioactive ceramics, pigments, various cement minerals, polymer-nanofiller composites, porous ceramic parts and glasses of various compositions.

Istaživanja su usmjerena prema razvoju i primjeni anorganskih materijala (keramički prašci, staklokeramika, staklo, bioaktivna keramika, cement, nanokompoziti, tanki filmovi, pigmenti i katalizatori). Metode rendgenske difrakcije praha, infracrvene spektroskopije i termičke analize (DSC-diferencijalna pretražna kalorimetrija, DTA-diferencijalna termička analiza i TGA-termo-gravimetrijska analiza) rutinski se rabe za analizu strukture i svojstava materijala. Glavne metode priprave ciljanih spojeva ili materijala uključuju: sol-gel postupke, hidrotermalnu sintezu, obradu praškastih tvari i reakcije pri visokim temperaturama koje uključuju sinteriranje i/ili taljenje. Možemo proizvesti praskaste materijale nanometarske veličine, tanke filmove, bioaktivnu keramiku, pigmente, brojne cementne minerale, polimerne kompozite sa česticama nanoveličine, poroznu keramiku i stakla različitog sastava.
