Short summary (English)

Today's activity of the Department includes teaching at undergraduate and graduate studies , postgraduate studies , research and professional work related to structural , physical , mechanical and technological properties of wood , the effect of decy on the wood - mentioned properties and the preservation of wood and wood products . As part of the Department and Laboratory of anatomical properties and protect the wood and the Laboratory for physical and mechanical properties of wood , internal library with about 2,200 books and professional Ksiloteka - collection of wood species with about 2,500 samples , intended for teaching , research and student work . The last curriculum Department is entrusted with the teaching of the 13 subjects at the undergraduate and graduate levels Wood technology and the Forestry Department of the Faculty. International Scientific Cooperation Bureau is especially accentuated with equivalent research institutions in Germany , Slovakia, Turkey , Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is jointly implemented on a scientific papers and projects as well as educational and scientific exchange and training of members of the Institute and of those institutions . Activity of the Department includes professional work in which knowledge of activities of the Department for the manufacture of projects and cooperation with industry processing and wood processing , use and application of wood or wood technology , with respect to the structural , physical , mechanical and technological properties of wood , and protection wood and wood products .

Današnja djelatnost Zavoda obuhvaća izvođenje nastave na preddiplomskim i diplomskim studijima, poslijediplomskim doktorskim studijima, znanstveni i stručni rad vezan za strukturna, fizikalna, mehanička i tehnološka svojstva drva, utjecaj grešaka drva na spomenuta svojstva te zaštitu drva i drvnih proizvoda. U sklopu Zavoda su i Laboratorij za anatomska svojstva i zaštitu drva te Laboratorij za fizikalna i mehanička svojstva drva, interna Knjižnica s oko 2.200 stručnih knjiga i Ksiloteka-zbirka vrsta drva s oko 2.500 uzoraka, namijenjeni za potrebe nastave, istraživanja i rad studenata. Poslijednjim nastavnim planom Zavodu je povjerena nastava iz 13 predmeta na preddiplomskom i diplomskom studiju Drvnotehnološkog i Šumarskog odsjeka Fakulteta. Međunarodna znanstvena suradnja Zavoda je posebno naglašena s istovjetnim istraživačkim institucijama u Njemačkoj, Slovačkoj, Turskoj, Sloveniji i Bosni i Hercegovini s kojima se zajednički realiziraju radovi na znansvenim projektima i kao i nastavno-znanstvena razmjena i usavršavanja članova Zavoda i tih institucija. Djelatnost Zavoda obuhvaća i stručni rad u kojem se znanja iz djelatnosti Zavoda primjenjuju pri izradi projekata i suradnji s gospodarstvom prerade i obrade drva, upotrebe i primjene drva, odnosno drvne tehnologije, a vezano za strukturna, fizikalna, mehanička i tehnološka svojstva drva, te zaštitu drva i drvnih proizvoda.
