Short summary (English)

The cooperation between the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering and the Laboratory of Experimental Mechanics started with giving Departmental support for acquire the test equipment for the Laboratory. The equipment was employed in determination of mechanical properties of in-built shipbuilding steels in as-built ships in Split shipyard. Subsequently it was found that the ultimate strength of the ship hull is significantly higher of the design strength. Besides, the low dispersion of measurement contributes to reliability of results

Suradnja između Zavoda za brodogradnju i pomorsku tehniku i Laboratorija za eksperimentalnu mehaniku FSB-a započela ja davanjem podrške Zavoda za nabavku kapitalne opreme Laboratorija. Oprema je potom korištena za određivanje mehaničkih svojstava ugrađenih brodograđevnih čelika u izgrađene brodove u brodogradilištu u Splitu. Ustanovljene su velike razlike između nominalnih (projektnih) i izmjerenih vrijednosti granične čvrstoće materijala. Slijedom toga utvrđeno je da je granična čvrstoća brodskog trupa znatno veća od one koja se predviđa u projektu. Osim toga, malo rasipanje vrijednosti mjerenja doprinosi pouzdanosti rezultata
