Short summary (English)

Since 1974 the Chair has been accredited for carrying out the assessment of plants' competence to fabricate welded structures in compliance with established norms and standards. It employs 10 people, including researchers, associate fellows and technical staff. About forty courses are on offer in the undergraduate and graduate studies programmes, with ten more at the postgraduate ones. Research activities of the department include: • development of underwater wet welding and cutting • study of weldability of high strength and high alloyed steels, Al-alloys, Cu-alloys and Ti-alloys • application of laser in material processing • development of special filler materials • development of welding power sources • robotics and the implementation of automation • development of adhesive bonding and brazing as joining technologies • study of the welding of polymer materials • investigation of thermal spraying Cooperation with industry: The cooperation of the Chair with industry is realized through the following activities and services: - development and the implementation of new welding technologies - development of new filler materials - consultancy services in the development and testing of power sources used for welding - verification of welding procedures - testing of weldability - expertise - underwater inspections and repairs - supervision of welding operations in the fabrication of structures, such as bridges, storage tanks, pipelines, supporting structures - certification of the companies engaged in the fabrication of welded structures according to the national standards - education of welders, following the EWF, IIW guidelines, for the European Welder qualification

Katedra za zavarene konstrukcije akreditirana je od 1974. godine za provođenje certifikacije o sposobnosti izvođenja zavarenih konstrukcija. Zapošljava ukupno 10 djelatnika, uključujući znanstvenike, tehničke suradnike i tehničko osoblje. U okviru nastavnog plana studentima preddiplomskog studija ponuđeno je preko 40 nastavnih kolegija, a studentima preddoktorkog studija ponuđeno je 10 kolegija. Istraživačka djelatnost Katedre uključuje: - Razvoj podvodnog mokrog zavarivanja i rezanja - Ispitivanje zavarljivosti materijala visokočvrstih čelika, aluminijskih, bakrenih i titan legura - Primjena lasera u zavarivanju i rezanju materijala - Razvoj dodatnih materijala za zavarivanje - Razvoj izvora struje za zavarivanje - Implementacija robota u automatizaciji zavarivanja - Razvoj tehnologije lijepljenja i lemljenja - Proučavanje zavarivanja polimernih materijala - Razvoj tehnologije toplinskog naštrcavanja Suradnja s privredom: Katedra za zavarene konstrukcije ima usku suradnju s industrijom što dokazuju sljedeći primjeri suradnje: - Razvoj i implementacija novih tehnologija zavarivanja, - Razvoj novih dodatnih materijala za zavarivanje - Konzultantske usluge na području razvoja i ispitivanje novih izvora struje za zavarivanje - Certifikacija postupaka zavarivanja, zavarivača i operatera - Ispitivanje zavarljivosti - Ekspertize - Podvodno ispitivanje i poravci - Nadzor zavarivačkih radova u proizvodnji zavarenih konstrukcija, poput mostova, spremnika, cjevovoda, nosećih konstruckija - Certifikacija poduzeća sa zavrivačkom djelatnosti prema nacionalnim standardima - Obrazovanje zavarivača, prema programima EWF, IIW.
