Short summary (English)

Activities of the Chair of Machine Tools is primarily in the fields of manufacturing and medical engineering. Research is in general focused on advancement of machining processes which includes: investigation of the machinability of different materials, modelling and optimization of machining parameters at various machining processes, wear modelling of cutting tools and development of the tool condition monitoring systems, design of machine tool mechanical components and their modules as well as development and implementation of machine tool control systems. In the field of medical engineering, research is focused on optimization of bone cutting processes, wear modelling of medical tools for bone cutting as well as the development of autonomous systems for digitizing, design and manufacturing of orthopedic insoles.

Djelatnost katedre usmjerena je na područja proizvodnog i medicinskog inženjerstva. Istraživanja se općenito odnose na unapređenje tehnoloških procesa obrade odvajanjem čestica što uključuje: ispitivanje obradivosti različitih materijala, modeliranje i optimizaciju parametara kod različitih postupaka obrade, modeliranje trošenja i razvoj sustava za nadzor istrošenosti reznih alata, konstrukciju alatnih strojeva i njihovih modula te razvoj i implementaciju upravljačkih sustava alatnih strojeva. Istraživanja u području medicinskog inženjerstva usmjerena su optimizaciji procesa bušenja kostiju, modeliranju trošenja medicinskih alata, te razvoju automatiziranih sustava za digitalizaciju, dizajn i izradu ortopedskih uložaka.
