Department's research expertises are: QSAR (quantitative-structure activity relationships), QSPR (quantitative-structure property relationships), preparation of moleculary imprinted polimers, microcapsulation of different active compounds, define the parameters that affect the mechanisms for controlled structuring phase in nano-and micro-level, the mechanism of interaction, formation and structure of phases in the system biopolimer/surfactant.

Područje istraživačkog rada jest: kvantitativni odnosi strukture i aktivnosti biološki aktivnih tvari, kvantitativni odnosi strukture i fizičko-kemijskih svojstava organskih spojeva, priprava molekulski tiskanih polimera, mikrokapsuliranje različitih aktivnih tvari, definiranje parametara koji utječu na mehanizme pri kontroliranom strukturiranju faza na nano- i mikrorazini, mehanizam međudjelovanja, nastajanje i struktura faza u sustavima biopolimer/površinski aktivna tvar.
